We should show our individuality not only across the style of dressing ourselves, but also by our head-dresses. According to latest tendencies, head-dresses have to be as most natural. - We turn already to natural slaughter-houses, to the natural texture of hair. Such which can be blow-dried, does not it is necessary them to press with the iron, does not it is necessary them to turn on brushes, absolutely not to comb back, rolls on the head also already are not necessarily timely - Philip Galas speaks. - We found that these natural head-dresses, completely free, completely loose, this this is, what to wear will be. |

Hi all, I was born breech. The week before I was born, I was head down, and then turned. Mom had an older OB who was experienced with breech births, and merely delivered me butt-first. Mom did say that she had a HUGE episiotomy. My midwives are trained in breech deliveries (though they don't do them at home - though I know of one case where they did one at home, because there just wasn't time to get to the hospital). So often on this board, I read about scheduled C-sections due to breech. But why not have the baby vaginally if it's not huge, and if it's in one of the safer breech positions (like frank breech). Has anyone here birthed a breech baby recently? Cathy Weeks Mommy to Kivi Alexis 12/01- http://www.bricktopia.com/kivi to reply remove the spam and Cathy is spelled with a C

I know there are one or two doctors around here who will do vaginal breech births under the right conditions. My midwives have occasionally handled a surprise breech birth. The sister of a friend had a vaginal breech birth within the last couple of months (I think she was in Utah). The problem is that few doctors are trained anymore in how to do vaginal breech births safely. Frankly, it's not something I'd want to attempt without someone who was actually experienced at it. Here's hoping I don't have to confront that decision! Best wishes, Ericka

My midwives are trained in breech deliveries (though they don't do them at home - though I know of one case where they did one at home, because there just wasn't time to get to the hospital). A friend I met through LLL had her breech baby delivered at home by a midwife. It was her first child, too. I would've been too scared to do it, but she did it and things went just fine. She did it w/o medication, too, so it does happen! When I asked how she made that decision she said she did a lot of research and asked a lot of questions. I can't recall exactly what her stats were, but the incidence of something going terribly wrong for a breech vaginal birth are about the same as an amniocentisis (sp), and doctors perform an amnio often but balk at a breech vaginal delivery, according to my friend. koa Still nursing James, 02/06/01 EP'ing for Joey 04/02/03 (BiCP)

Has anyone here birthed a breech baby recently? My friend at work had her second baby, which was breech, vaginally. It was extremely hard for her to find a doc who would do it (Westchester Co, NY), and the father of her doc basically came out of retirement to assist, as he had far more experience with breech births than his son. And they were only willing to work with her because she's had a baby before, it was frank breech and she went to labor by her due date. She said the birth was med-free like her first one, and uneventful. Alena

Has anyone here birthed a breech baby recently? I met a woman last night, who had a natural, water birth of twins in a freestanding birth center with a midwife, and the second twin was breech.

My midwives are trained in breech deliveries (though they don't do them at home - though I know of one case where they did one at home, because there just wasn't time to get to the hospital). It's getting rarer and rarer. To the best of my knowledge there are no longer any OB's in CT that will do a vaginal breech. Even the most midwife-like ones stopped when that study came out a couple years ago. No breeches at the birth center's either. There was an older OB who would still do them if they were frank breech and a tested pelvis but he retired recently. Some of the homebirth midwives will catch a vaginal breech but that is midwife to midwife and depends on the specifics of the situation. The only exception are Twin B's who come breech and they are done in the OR with an epidural in place. Karen
