Correction of typo: The last sentence of the final paragraph of my 10/24 post on this thread contained a typographical error in the Source info. The words World War I were shown rather than World War II. Yes, as a matter of fact. There is right now in Tampa, Florida, a resident alien of Arab descent being held as a potential terrrorist on unreavealed national security charges, without bail, on an indefinite basis. So far he has been in custody far longer than the WW II relocatees. The government still has the legal authority to detain resident aliens in the national interest

.... the Act grew out of the study and recommendations of the Commission on Wartime Relocation and Internment of Civilians (CWRIC), whose charge was to review the facts and circumstances surrounding Executive Order 9066, I beg to differ. The problem here is that your reference above, from which you quoted at length, omits the portion of the CWRIC's assignment as outlined in its report Personal Justice Denied

Many didn't want to leave the centers, some had never had it so good. I assume you have some evidence for how these people had never had it so good.
