As I'm sure everyone's noticed, this thread about HCT alternators has gone into double-digit messages. Just to make sure no one gets any false impressions, here's a couple of background facts: 1) I do not, and have never, been employed by Marvin Crawford, HCT, or any other business that he's been involved in. He doesn't pay me to say or not say anything. I have offered technical advice to him when he asked for it, but it was completely up to him to use or not use my suggestions. 2) However, I HAVE known Marvin Crawford for the better part of 10 years. In that time, I have NEVER known him to knowingly cheat anyone in ANYTHING. In fact, I've seen him bend over backwards for people, in cases where I, personally, would have told them to f*** themselves, in both his old business operations and in HCT. His patience is much greater than mine, apparently... ask me why I'm not in retail sales anymore... 3) As most people who know me realize, I don't play favorites. I'll get on the case of virtually anyone that I think deserves it, whether it be friend, foe, employer, political leader... whoever... Some people can't deal with this, and I say, that's their problem, and I really don't care. If I think you're right, I'll say so, and the other too. I care very little about what people think about me, in any popularity contests. I never have, and never will. I usually exhibit what might be called common courtesy , but I don't walk on eggshells, and I da** sure am NOT politically correct . Either you respect me for integrity, wit, and knowledge, or you don't. Your choice, and you make your own decisions. I can be abrasive, but I hope not unfair. 4) In this whole affair between Marvin and John (Batvette), I've been privy to some info that I am not at liberty to disclose. If the people involved wish to disclose those things, they will do it themselves; it is not my place to do so. However, I have come to a set of conclusions due to that, and also more publicly-known data. I acknowledge readily that most people out there have no imperative to take what I say as gospel, or even true, without personally knowing me, and my character. I wish there was more I could do to back up this case... So, in short, please take anything that I say or anyone else says about me in this affair, in the context here. I do feel badly about and apologize for the tone of some of my statements, which did get somewhat out of hand in some cases- but I stand behind my conclusions... Regards, Gordon.

IN short, Marvin doesn't GIVE A DAMN much about what people say about him. Those who have his products, install them properly and have them work for YEARS and YEARS without problems, know what's up, and that's all that really matters... Yeah. Fuck John. Fuck John. Fuck Scott. Fuck everyone. I'm right and I don't care what people think. Thats the attitude we need. Well, at least I know who not to deal with (and a few companies I will deal with). Hey, Marvin didn't start the sh**-throwing, in the first place. He DID make quite an effort to resolve this problem, most of it at his own expense. How many times was he supposed to replace the same part for the same problem, when it appeared to *everyone* else who's actually SEEN it, here, that's not personally involved with John or Scott, that it *wasn't* the fault of the part itself? 5 times? 10 times? 20? *Any* manufacturer is going to eventually say screw this, this isn't OUR doing that's causing this . *Any* manufacturer is going to eventually say screw this, this isn't OUR doing that's causing this . And that's exactly what happened here... You mean ignore John like he's a bill collector? If it was up to mean, Marvin should put up or shut up. I would take this thing to a impartial alternator shop and have them look at it. That would be how I handle it. Let them look at the thing and go from there. No more well, our 'other' customers never had a problem, so these must work well attitude. Step up to the plate and let someone else decide. And if he doesn't want to do that, I'm on the phone with my local BBB and let them sort it out. Call a few other consumer oriented groups and see how long they continue with the audi approach to doing business. At a certain point its going to be easier (and cheaper) to listen to someone then it will be to ignore them. Granted, thats just MY opinion of what I would do if I felt like I had been screwed. If that keeps just two people from buying a HCT alternator, the loser will by Marvin, not John. Juan

Call a few other consumer oriented groups and see how long they continue with the audi approach to doing business. At a certain point its going to be easier (and cheaper) to listen to someone then it will be to ignore them. Granted, thats just MY opinion of what I would do if I felt like I had been screwed. If that keeps just two people from buying a HCT alternator, the loser will by Marvin, not John. Marvin's business has nearly DOUBLED since the inception of this affair. Some of them, BECAUSE of reading thie thread, decided to call and find out exactly what was going on, and decided to buy! And not a SINGLE ONE of these new customers, or any other of the old, have had a similar problem to John. I think that people with brains in their heads can figure out what's REALLY going on here...
