trainer id in pokemon Alakazam vs. Mewtwo

I'm going to the Pokémon Tournament, and I was thinking of using my Alakazam to counter the many Mewtwos there will be. I'd first Reflect on some pokémon other than Mewtwo, defeat the other pokémon (hopefully), and when he brings out Mewtwo, Toxic. Alakazam will faint eventually, but I will Recover every turn until Toxic is high enough to do major damage. If Alakazam faints early though, I would bring out Mewtwo who would have a huge advantage over the opponent's due to Toxic. I gave Alakazam the following moves: Recover Toxic Psychic Reflect I was wondering if it would be a better idea to give him Double Team over Reflect.

Recover Toxic Psychic Reflect I was wondering if it would be a better idea to give him Double Team over Reflect. Double team is only good if the other opponent doesn't have swift. I have NEVER been hit when I double teamed 3 teams other than bye swift. I'd go for double team instead of swift because most people probably have an elemental move/hyper beam over swift. Go battle one of your friends using reflect. Then fight him again with double team. Depending on which one you like best...chose that. That's hard, but I prefer a Good Exeggutor(Mine is Level 100, RandlFlagg) He knows Egg Bomb, Solar Beam, Psychic, and Hypnosis. It's good, but to kill Mewtwo, Try Psychic, Hypnosis, Solar Beam, and EXPLOSION! Hypnotize him, slam him with Psychic. Be sure not to get it below half-way, or the Mewtwo-usein punk will Recover. Then use Explosion. They never see it coming, and it will kill them. Sure, you're guy goes down, but you take out the cheap bastard's Mewtwo. Personally, I refuse to battle against someone cheap enough to fight without their Mewtwo. Yes, I do own one, but I don't use him either. Ethan Einhorn

Yes, this would be great, so long as Mewtwo is your opponent's last pokemon. If it isn't, he/she can always switch away and come back, at which point the poison will no longer be a decisive factor. Even if they had Hyper Beam, Double Team and Recover, Alakazam would still probably win. The only time Alakazam lost was when he was Frozen. Hold on, the Mewtwo's didn't have Recover? What's that all about? Was this using the Toxic strategy you were on about? Why didn't the Mewtwos just switch away? Without either of these counter-strategies being employed, your test doesn't prove anything. Here's the bottom line. Anything Alakazam can do, Mewtwo can do better. He's faster, has a higher Special, and can learn exactly the same moves (better, even). Plus, his HP, Defense, and Attack are all first rate, unlike the lop-sided Alakazam. The only way Mewtwo will lose is by awful luck, bad training or bad playing. This whole thread is starting to smell like something that lives under a bridge and fears billy goats.
