The Toxic then eventually kills Mewtwo. And this is if Mewtwo has a 120 attack power move... if he has Swift, Alakazam will easily win since Swift is 60. It also has 20 PP (assuming it isn't PP UP'ed to 32), and will critical hit from time to time. Did you know that critical hits ignore all stat and damage modifiers, including Reflect? Yes. Alakazam has survived many Mega Kicks that have Critical Hit. I forget if this has been researched or not. He has a point in that Reflect doesn't increase defense, and I can't find any info I have concerning Reflect/Light Screen. Anyone want to take this up?

I doubt the majority of the opponents I'll face will either... Maybe... most people on this NG who follow discussions of tactics know it, but they're better informed than most. However, I've encountered other p_layer_s who've never had contact with AGNP who had noticed it in their own experience. I'm sure you'll do well with your Alakazam. He sounds pretty kick-ass. Critical hits may ignore stat increases, but Reflect isn't a normal stat increase. It halfs all hits that are _base_d on attack. I know this because Alakazam has survived many Mega Kicks that have Critical Hit. I forget if this has been researched or not. He has a point in that Reflect doesn't increase defense, and I can't find any info I have concerning Reflect/Light Screen. Anyone want to take this up? Reflect and Light Screen, like all barriers, are bypassed by critical hits. Both Reflect and Light Screen double defensive power, Light Screen halves special attack damage and Reflect halves physical attack damage.
