SOAP OPERA DIGEST/By CAROLYN HINSEY Some of Days of Our Lives' biggest stars will appear on Friends Thursday night as part of Joey Tribbiani's (Matt LeBlanc) ongoing soap-opera stint. Joey is throwing a party for his friends and cast mates of 'Days of Our Lives' on his rooftop, says Kyle Lowder, who plays Brady on Days. Lowder is one of four Days stars appearing in the episode - the others are Matthew Ashford (Jack), Farah Fath (Mimi) and Alexis Thorpe (Cassie). I play myself, adds Lowder. I'm one of his friends. He's like, 'Hey, Kyle, what's up?' and I say, 'Hey, Joey.' The gag is that Rachel and Monica are there and they go crazy when they meet his famous friends. Lowder admits it was a little weird to be playing himself while calling the stars of Friends by their character names. Since I was playing myself, I was wearing my wedding ring, says Lowder, who is married to Days co-star Arianne Zuker (Nicole) in real-life. During a break, Jennifer Aniston said 'I see you're married.' I said, 'Yes - and then it dawned on me - 'As a matter of fact, I'm married to the woman who plays your father's wife on 'Days of Our Lives.' (John Aniston has played bad guy Victor Kiriakis on Days since 1985.) It took her a second, Lowder says, and finally she said, 'How old is your wife?' I explained [the story] to her and she got a kick out of it. She knows what's going on on the show, but [doesn't watch every day]. The actor admits that his foray into prime time was a bit overwhelming. My wife and I watch 'Friends' every Thursday, he says. I'm an actor, that's what I do for a living. But I can't lie - as the whole thing was happening I didn't take a second of it for granted. He even learned something. I was having a conversation with Lisa Kudrow, who plays Phoebe, and she said, 'Kyle, I have so much respect for what you guys do.' I said, 'What do you mean?' She knew everything about the medium of soap operas, what it takes to put a show on the air every day, etc. I was listening to this just thinking, 'Wow.' Fans may say the same thing when they see Lowder's, ahem, intimate scene with Courteney Cox's character, Monica. It's hysterical, he says. Comings and goings: Susan Seaforth Hayes, who has a recurring role as Julie on 'Days,' will reprise the role of Lauren's mom JoAnna on The Bold and the Beautiful in May.
