This is very strange and has never happened to me before-I have worn Chanel's Allure for over a year now mainly because it is my husband's absolute favorite.Recently bought a new e.d.t  at my local drugstore which has an excellent fragrance selection.Put it on last night and it is not smelling like my regular Allure-it's more powdery somehow,and even my husband noticed and asked what I was wearing-when I told him Allure he said no way. Can it be different because I bought it at a  drugstore and not a Chanel counter?? This was still a big purchase and I don't know how to convince them that it's just not the same.Has this ever happened to you? Thanx for the input. Heidi

Light and heat can cause the essential oils in a perfume to decompose. I keep mine in a drawer, and they last forever. If you have any of the old bottle of the perfume left, take it and the new, different one to the store and let them smell the difference. Can it be different because I bought it at a  drugstore and not a Chanel counter?? This has happened to me a couple of times. I no longer purchase at discount or drugstores. Who knows where they obtained the fragrances or how old they are? I now go to the busiest store I can find, like Sephora or Nordies and request the latest shipment. Haven't had a problem doing it this way. StephZ

You could have a knock-off too!  I was recently at Marshalls and they had a alot of Caron fragrances(which are hard to find in the US).  I knew they were not the real thing by just looking how bad the print job was on the boxes! paul paul
