wrote in message ARRRRRG! I need help. I have an appointment Tuesday to get my hair cut. I like it SHORT. And I mean short, short enough that it's spikey all by itself but long enough you can't see my scalp. Get it? Short. She ALWAYS leaves the back of my head about as long as the front and with out a V and without a duck tail. After one or two times of telling her go just a bit shorter I finally just give up and tell her it's fine so I can pay and get out of there. So I'm looking for pictures.... gawd! People! I type in short hair _style_s and I get pictures of people with MEDIUM _style_s. Do people not know what the definition of *short* is? I guess it's all perspective... So I need help. I am desperate for a GOOD picture of the kind of hair _style_ I've been roughly describing in this post. Any one? I want my hair cut RIGHT, as in MY way, for just once.
My friend gets her hair cut as short as you're describing. She goes to a really cheap place (she pays $12) but she has to explain, step by step, what she wants her hairdresser to do. She doesn't like having to do it that way but she gets what she wants. She went to the more expensive places in town ($45 hair cuts) and they were worse. Stylists just don't like to do short haircuts. Try
http://shf.czweb.ch/ and the _link_s from there. Also,
http://www.haarigeseite.de/hs/ in the haircut section but you have to experiment on clicking on different pictures, which in turn brings up more pictures. I just got a short cut that I love. What I did was I searched websites until I'd found a bunch of cuts. Unfortunately, I don't think my collection would be helpful to you, although it's the right length, since if a ducktail is having hair trailing down over the nape of the neck, that was what I as avoiding. Unlike you, I didn't have an exact _style_ in mind. I knew I wanted it short, it had to look professional, and be low maintenance (I'm sure I own a blow dryer, but I doubt I've ever used it for anything other than unfreezing pipes), so I gave her a bunch of choices and told her to have at it. I think she was a little nervous about it, but it really turned out great. Good luck, Martha
