I was in Sears and a customer and his wife walked up to me and I asked them if they wanted insurance on their phone. They said that did not need it in their country. First of all, they were very clearly dark/African. They said their place was Cairo. I said to myself- damn! I did not ask if they thought that they were Arab or black or whatever. I told the man that I would not mind going to Egypt, but I did not want to get shot. He told me that they only shoot white Americans and Europeans. He said brother, you have nothing to worry about. I thought that that was answer that I was looking for about his blackness, and he answered without my asking. If any of you must know, he did look like an ancient Egyptian. His wife however, was clearly black, but with a 'middle eastern' look face wise. She was also a kind of light. When I mentioned the part about my interest in traveling to Egypt, she asked my why Egypt and not Ethiopia? The woman was Eithiopian, the man Egyptian. Ethiopia is always considered 'black Africa,' but in a country where books either do not mention, relabel, or just plain state that black people ar not supposed to exsist, a black man is there. Others are there also. In the so-called 'black' African' country, the woman looked African, but less 'traditional' African than the man. I suppose that Egyptians who recognize their blackness will have to do TV speacials in order for people to know what the real deal is, and not what other people want to tell you the deal is. Hey....NOW I'm convinced. One chance encounter with one couple in a Sears store is all I need. I can now conclude that all Egyptians were black. All this dialogue previously was clearly Eurocentrickery to diminish the contributions of a progenitor super race of blacks. I'm having a problem though with your brother stating that Egyptians only shoot white Americans and Europeans. Isn't that a bit racist by the Black Egyptians? What's the real deal in that?
