We should show our individuality not only across the style of dressing ourselves, but also by our head-dresses. According to latest tendencies, head-dresses have to be as most natural. - We turn already to natural slaughter-houses, to the natural texture of hair. Such which can be blow-dried, does not it is necessary them to press with the iron, does not it is necessary them to turn on brushes, absolutely not to comb back, rolls on the head also already are not necessarily timely - Philip Galas speaks. - We found that these natural head-dresses, completely free, completely loose, this this is, what to wear will be. |

This is rather embarassing. I have really long hair, for a guy. How long? I haven't measured it, but it's more than halfway down my back. Problem is, I don't really know how to maintain it. I never had hair lessons as a kid. Keeps getting tangled when I sleep, etc. Also, I've simply been not getting it cut, and I need a trim. I need a good place to see some men's long-hair_style_s. Any suggestions? First, my credentials: My hair is waist-length in a ponytail (out of the ponytail it comes below my butt.) It's somewhere between curly and wavy. It's six different colors. (Black, brown, red, blonde, white, and silver.) The black is natural, and I've had the white since I was about 12. The silver started coming in in my early 20s. The other colors are just where the black faded from being in the sun and swimming a lot. <snip actual tips Thanks for the advice! *passes bong*

Maintaining for growth: You may notice that your hair grows to a certain length and just stops getting any longer. That's not quite true. What is happening is none of your individual hairs can get any longer without getting broken or pulled out. That's the maximum average length of your hair. To get your hair past this plateau you have to change a few habits. Brushing: Get a GOOD hairbrush. Long, stiff bristles and the bed of the brush has give a little. (So it won't just TEAR your hear out). Go to a beauty supply store and ask the person behind the counter for their recommendation. Don't buy a round brush unless you plan on curling your hair under or having a flip on the end. It's definitely not a manly look. Grab your hair as if it was in a ponytail and brush that part first. DO IT SLOWLY. Don't force the brush through your hair. After the tail is done, then finish your head. Hair is more fragile when it's wet, and a lot of breakage occurs in the shower. Minimize this by brushing your hair before you shower. Clean your brush after every usage. Cleaning: First, stop washing your hair. (At least stop washing it every day.) Wash your HEAD. That's the part that's dirty. The soapy, sudsy water that rinses over your hair as you rinse from washing your head is plenty for every-day cleaning. The hair oils that remain will strengthen and lengthen your hair. If you can get away with it, instead of washing - just rinse your head with hot water every other day. Your hair will look clean (it may not FEEL clean, tho) and it will seem to grow faster. I only recommened this for weekends. After a heavy workout, swimming, or just when it's really dirty, it IS good to wash it all. Rule of thumb: When you DO wash your hair, wash once, condition twice. Use cheap shampoo and expensive conditioner. Almost all shampoos are the same, and none are worth what they charge for some. Buy Suave. Buy two bottles of conditioner. One bottle of expensive stuff (from a salon) and one bottle of cheap stuff (Suave is really good). Use the cheap stuff first. Again, start from the ends and work your way up. Put conditioner on your hands and run your fingers through the length of your hair. Bend over and get it from another angle. Don't be afraid to use too much on the first go-round (the real reason for using cheap stuff first). Rinse well and do a quick once-over with the good conditioner. Brush your hair after you get out of the shower SLOWLY. Brushing while wet is the #1 cause of split ends. Styling: Read the labels. Do not EVER put ANYTHING with alcohol on your hair. Nix any aerosol hairspray, too. As a guy, the only REAL product you need is a control paste (to keep the frizzies down) or a deep conditioner. Deep conditioners can be used as a styling product if used sparingly. They are especially good if your hair is curly. Don't use heat (no blowdrying). Tieing it back: Spend a little time and money looking for hair ties that do not have an exposed _meta_l piece. Most of the cheap ones have _meta_l on them. This will tangle your hair and break it at the pony-tail point. If you are just tieing it back to go to bed, try a woman's scrunchi. Getting it cut: Walk around town looking for a woman who has hair like yours. Not only length, but curliness/thickness as well. Ask them where they get her hair done. Chances are that you will be one of the very few men that go there. Get over it. Eat well. Protein and calcuim grow hair. Every couple of years I contemplate growing my hair, I never do. After reading this post, it made me appreciate my very short hair even more. disy

Just be careful not to overcondition. If it looks and feels greasy all the time, cut back on the conditioner. Pantene Pro-V is a good one that's not too expensive. Nature's Gate (you find them in health food stores) makes another good one that smells like herbs and clove. Very nice. Also, take a vitamin E suppliment. It's good for the hair and the skin too.

really curly, ringlets the whole length. I used Frizz Ease hair serum (silicone _base_d) to keep it from tangling, and it worked wonders for me. Just that, some good conditioner, was all it took. Shaun aRe Hmm... Frizz Ease, you say? My hair tends to curl up randomly too. I might give that a shot. Uh-huh! By John Frieda. Does a whole Frizz Ease range. Some reviews of the hair serum here: http://www.dooyoo.co.uk/life_style_/hair_care/frizz_ease_serum/ HTH mate! Shaun aRe

of Paradise long enough to tell us: If I grow out my goatee some more and braid it, I could go for quite a look. don't braid the goatee; it's not right I could have one long braid in the middle with two shorter braids to the side. I could even braid shit into the middle one. You know, stuff like beads or whatever. You gotta admit, that'd look funny as hell. ',;~}~ I get my pointy chin beard (now 5 inches long) braided occasionally. Had it wire wrapped too (really cool fine red wire) for the wedding and honeymoon, which was fun. Had beads on it too. If it doesn't raise a smile or a laugh, it ain't worth doing! Shaun aRe - Also 'forked' it into two braids once.
