I'll vote for the mussed up, spiky, just-fallen-out-of-bed look that probably takes about an hour to arrange in the morning. From IMDB today: Star Wars: Episode III actors are showing off unfashionable mullet hairdos - because they were trendy when the first Star Wars film was made in 1977. You know what else would lead seamlessly into the original Star Wars movie?  A good _script_.  But mullets are easier, right Lucas? I know what you mean, but the hairdos also make some sense. From IMDB today: Star Wars III: Attack of the Mullets Star Wars movie-maker George Lucas is insisting all the characters in the new sci-fi sequel sport shaggy seventies-_style_ haircuts - so they look like the stars of the original films. Star Wars: Episode III actors Ewan McGregor and Hayden Christensen, currently shooting the final installment on set in New South Wales, Australia, are showing off unfashionable mullet hairdos - because they were trendy when the first Star Wars film was made in 1977. The Star Wars shaggy hair cuts don't really qualify as mullets.  Not quite short enough around the ears, not quite long enough in the back. I've always thought it funny that Star Wars and Days of Heaven, two late 70s films set in wildly different times and places, both failed to break free from the shaggy late 70s haircuts.  The TV show MASH was the same way, though they never really tried to convincingly portray the 50s or the military. I wonder what hair or costume _style_s will instantly date the present in years to come?

The George Clooney Caesar and the Jennifer Aniston Rachel will always evoke 1995 - 2003 Don't forget the frosted look for men - short dark spiky hair that is blond at the tips.  Also the way balding 30somethings shave their head will be referred to as the combover of the 90s/00s.
