Well if any of us knew the future, we'd all be billionaires now This is what is called a pump and dump scheme.  The spammer buys some very cheap low volume stock, then sends out a million spams touting it in the hope that at least .001% of the people who see his spam will buy the stock, thus bidding up the price.  He then sells. I guess it must work for the spammer since I get about 5-10 of these kinds of spams per day. It seems like, more and more, we conduct our lives in a fog of advertising and misinformation designed to suck money out of us.  Using the Internet is often like walking through swarms of mosquitoes.  If you wear enough clothing and mosquito repellant you won't get bitten, but just taking all the precautions is still a significant and uncomfortable pain.     Alan
