According to the study, genetics.         This reminds me of some research into similar studies in the US at the beginning of the 20th century studying the inheritance of personality traits.  They were being used in the early US eugenics programs at the time.  Scientists were sure that undesireable traits were inherited by black people.  They showed that black people were more often criminals, were more wild, violent and more sexually deviate than normal and less intelligent as well as lazy, and they showed that because these traits are inherited, according to these studies, the children would inherit this from their parents.  So they included these scientific studies in their explanations of why segregation is needed and why black people could only do certain jobs, such as service jobs or slavery, needing to be ordered and controled. And even in those jobs people were still told to be careful around black people because they believed, as toon says, these traits are inherited biologically from the parents.  They were also used as a reason to control the immigration of certain groups like Jews, Irish, orientals, etc.  And there were cases where men were going to force women to get abortions if the women had an undesireable trait.         Today there are still many people who take those studies seriously and continue to believe that black people are inherting the criminal genes.  A person I know who studies this in university believes that if a person's mother was a prostitute, that person will most likely become a prostitute also, or be more interested in prostitution than is normal.  He believes that the children will most likely do whatever the parents did, even if the child never knew the parents because of this genetic inheritance.  So the US hasn't completely left those old ideas behind.  It just continues more quietly than before.

I doubt that evolution as we understand as acting on animals and plants applies, as such, to humans. For one thing, the term natural selection means very different things for humans on the one hand and other species on the other hand. There's no difference at all - it's all about survival of genes. But into the 2nd generation - there's no good propogating to have kids that don't have any kids of their own; it's about your genes surviving indefinitely. And that's where sibling and strategies come into play - sometimes it's better not to have offspring yourself if by doing so, more of your genes can survive via siblings (and possibly even cousins). Right. Sacrirficng yourself, so the clan can survive.  It's the beginnings of human altruism.  First you think of yourself, then your group, then anybody else.  Therefore, homosexuals enable others to procreate, thus providing a continued species. And yet we still exist - that seems to suggest that we do serve a purpose, even if it's not as obvious or clear as heterosexuality. Perhaps gays and lesbians contribute to humanity's drives for socialisation, whilst also easing up on pressures in higher population areas whilst still contributing overall to the group's output, i.e. even just a few hundred or few thousand years ago, we helped make more food for everyone, especially siblings and relatives who share most of our genes, yet didn't produce more mouths to share that food between... Well, if everybody was heteral, competition for mates would be fierce, and the wrong people could unleash a genetic defect that systematically wipes out humanity in a few generations.  With them, people can be a bit more selective, and avoid a dangerous pairing up. Of course, since people don't reproduce simply to further the existence of humanity, then it doesn't matter if some don't reproduce at all. There is just one problem with all your statements. Statistically, homosexuals are too insignificant too have the kind of effects you have talked about. If tommorrow every homosexual on Earth became straight I doubt much will change with regard to social dynamics or human evolution.

The problem is there is no hard proof in these studies . These are just scientists speculating amongst themselves.

It's not a matter of forcing children to engage in homosexual behavior, but in pressuring children to overcome their instinctive and appropriate revulsion toward the idea of homosexual behavior. I dispute instinctive and appropriate revulsion . It more likely to be learned behaviour.
