I always start to take vitamins and then stop so I don't know if they really help any. Plus I can't handle taking 5 different ones to do different things.   Do any of you take a particular vitamin and notice a difference in how you look and feel? Cheryl in NJ

Haven't tried this yet, but I've read several well-researched articles touting anti-oxidant vitamins.  They claim the following are considered the most helpful:  B12, C, and E.  I've also heard Zinc is a 'must' mineral supplement.   Multi-vitamins aren't advisable, because they never give you a high enough dose of the vitamins recommended (goes by USDA in the States).   It's a fairly general consensus that the USDA is waaaay below helpful recommended dosage-wise. K.

Do any of you take a particular vitamin and notice a difference in how you look and feel? I take several different vitamin supplements, but the most beauty and fashion related is Biotin. I read in Prevention Magazine that 2400 mcg of Biotin daily will increase nail thickness by 25- 35%.  My nails have become stronger in just a few months. I also take a multi-vitamin, C and E, evening primrose oil capsules (help with my borderline high blood pressure), and a ginko/ginseng supplement. For PMS, raspberry capsules. To help me sleep, melatonin. All this, and a few years ago I could barely take aspirin (hated to swallow pills)! I'm a supplement/vitamin maniac: In the a.m. 1 Centrum Birth control pill (LoOvral 28) 1,000 mg Vitamin C **  3 B-Complex Vitamins if it's my PMS week **  2 Herburetic Dietary supplements during PMS week (it's a mild herbal diuretic) 2 Ripped Fuel if it's my day off from working out If working out: 2 Endurox 1 hour before training 2 Amino Fuel 2000 after workout ( the *biggest* pills I've ever seen!) In the p.m. Melatonin (usually 3 -4 times per week) Works for me!! Sheri
