Review Warlord of Mars (Republic,1939) twelve episodes  Staring  Kane Richmond as John Carter               Jean Rogers as Deja Thoris               Monte Blue as Tarkas               Frank Shannon as Mors Kajak               Ray Mala as Kantos Kan               Mamo Clark as Sola               Tristram Coffin as Than Kosis               Noble Johnson as Sab Than   Aviator, John Carter is attempting to fly around the world when his plane in enveloped in a strange green radiation causing him to pass out. He awakens just in time to land his plane on an unknown desert which he somehow intuitively knows must be the planet Mars. Disoriented, he is quickly taken prisoner by the Tharks who are beefy green warriors dressed in slightly modified Arab robes from central wardrobe. He is brought before the court of Tal Hajus who insists that he prove his prowess in a duel  against the huge  warrior Dotar whom he easily bests.   Also held prisoner by the Tharks is Deja Thoris a blond princess of the city of Helium. Whith the help of Tarkas a Thark warrior who befriends him, John Carter rescues Deja Thoris and sets out to return her to her home city. Shortly after arrival at Helium, Carter becomes an honored guest at the court of Mors Kajak where he has no time to settle in as Deja Thoris is again kidnapped by  Sab Than,  prince of Zodanga who threatens to destroy the factory which makes the Martian atmosphere if Carter follows him.     Carter, in disguise as a Zodangan soldier named Dotar Sojat , contrives after many adventures,  to rescue the princess and save Mars from distruction.     It is revealed that the martian Scientist Ras Thavas created the ray which accidentally transported Carter to Mars  and returns him, his plane and his new wife, Deja Thoris, to Earth.
