Big and proud return to the classics, shapely, feminine lines of head-dresses or Afro it is the alternative not only on the carnival. In this season we observe return to the classics. Very strong lines of hair-cuttings, geometrical, sharp cuts - that's dominating. The classics does not mean however the boredom, oldschool quiet, classical forms broken they are futuristic asymmetries. A base of neat, feminine head-dresses is the sharp cut showing the face and neck, asymmetric, simple fringes exhibiting the face.

I know that stress. It never fully goes away, but my mom told me something that helped. It's silly, but one time, her pediatrician told her (about my sister, who liked to climb things. Outdoors. Naked. At a year old.) Kids aren't made of glass, honest.  It's silly, but it helped me. Sometimes, I felt that way, too. I was wrong, and so are you. *hugs* You're obviously a good mom.  And we learn from stuff

Sounds like that pediatricion was a wise, wise man.  Mommy-Guilt is a rotten thing we women do to ourselves.  No matter what we do, we always feel like we could be doing better.  I used to pat myself on the back about what a great job I was doing with DD.....then DS came along and none of that stuff worked on him and I realized that a lot of what I'd taken credit for with DD was because she's just an exceptionally easy-going kid (or just blind luck)..... I have promised both my kids that I may not be the perfect mom, but I'm doing my best and I promise that, 20 years from now, when they're in therapy, they'll have less to talk about and blame me for than I did when I was in therapy for all the mistakes *my* mom made with me!  hahahaha! *grin* Philip Larkin - This Be The Verse They fuck you up, your mum and dad.    They may not mean to, but they do. They fill you with the faults they had    And add some extra, just for you. But they were fucked up in their turn    By fools in old-_style_ hats and coats, Who half the time were soppy-stern    And half at one another's throats. Man hands on misery to man.    It deepens like a coastal shelf. Get out as early as you can,    And don't have any kids yourself. Serene

and carbs, but only moderate amounts of actual protein. Percentage of protein calories to total dietary calorie intake makes little difference.  The amount of protein a person needs depends on their size, activity and health.  50g/day may be borderline/enough for a healthy, sedentary 120 lb person as long as they are getting enough calories to maintain their weight and energy.   A larger person, someone doing manual labor, a person engaged in a weight loss diet or an exercise program will need more to maintain muscle mass. A baby doesn't weigh much but they are growing so they need more protein per pound than most adults. The RDA is 0.8g/kg for adults but it is not adequate for everyone.  The PCRM considers one bite of animal protein to be a high protein diet. BTW... those symptoms?  They are myths. http://jn.nutrition.org/cgi/content/abstract/133/3/855S http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/16174292

If she eats a lot, with a decent measure of variety, and is getting enough calories, the World Health Organization says it's almost impossible that she's not getting enough protein. I'd say just relax. Serene just relax is something I need more practice at when it comes to my kids......I'm always stressing out about whether or not I'm doing it right ......... Take tonight for example......DH picked up KFC on the way home and DD had her very first drumstick (I usually prepare boneless, skinless breast meat and we only get take out chicken about once a year.....she probably didn't have teeth the last time we had KFC!).........she was doing a good job eating.....ate the baked beans, a few fries, ignored the biscuit w/honey butter and was gnawing away at the drumstick........until I realized she'd eaten the end right off the bone!!!!!!  How was she supposed to know she wasn't supposed to eat that part.....Mom handed it to her so she ate it! So, I'm all set to call the pediatrician, freaking out that she's going to get a perforated intestine or something......DH managed to talk me off the ledge and pointed out that she had crunched up the bone and the worst thing would be an unpleasant bathroom experience in the morning. I still can't believe I let that happen.....I pulled the rest of the meat off the bone and she finished it that way.  Next time I'll know better. Sometimes, I just feel like the dumbest, worst mother on the planet.

I was a teen and I don't even remember what they tasted like. She'll eat just about any sort of veggie or fruit, including beans and avocados.  (hmmm....must remember to try giving DS some avocado.  He's 8 months old now and still not reliably eating solids.)  I'm not a big grain eater so we don't do much of the rice, barley type of thing. Peanuts/peaunt butter is a big no-no.....I have a mild peanut allergy that is getting worse as I get older. Current AMA guidelines recommend no PB until after the age of 3 to avoid developing  a sensitivity to it. Growing kids with growing brains need fat and protein......I get so frustrated with all the low fat and fat free foods out there....it's about impossible to find food with the natural, normal amount of fat and cholesteral it was created with.  While your average adult may be getting too much protein, most kids today eat a diet heavy in starch and sugar. They're getting fatter, but starving their little brains while their butts are getting bigger. I just set myself a new goal.....I want to start cooking more natural/whole foods and rely less on pre-packaged ingredients.  No excuses now that I'm at home full time.....I have the time to re-learn how to cook again.

There is a ground soy product you can get that is a powder you can incorporate into stews, casserole etc.  I had some sprinkled on a berry crisp and you would have never known it was there.  It has no flavour on its own, but it adds protein.  Unfortunately, I didn't get the name.  I thought I would recognize it on the shelf.  Why do I keep forgetting that I can't remember things?????  I have to call the beginning of the week for the name. There are two things I know of that match that de_script_ion: one is soy powder, and the other's called TVP, or Texturized Vegetable Protein. Serene
