I can't be the only on struggling with this! There is no way of uploading an html file to a 123-reg website to show the url that google needs to see, there is always domain name. 123 jargon then google file and more . Also there is no way of accessing the area to input the _meta_ name either. The only access is DNS CNAME where you can verify for google apps email etc but not for the website. If google were to offer for some owners to write something unique somewhere they had access to this wouldn't be a problem. Can anyone help?

To use Webmaster tools you have to verify that you are indeed the site owner. If you can't edit the head section or add your own _meta_ tags then you can't use the _meta_ tag verification. If you can upload files to your site you should be able to use the verification file method. If you can't do either then you can't verify site ownership. If you are serious about your web site then you probably want to insure your hosting service provides these basic services and others. You will likely benefit in the long run. Something to consider. would need to contact google to find out how to verify with 123-reg websites specifically. As I said before I have acccess to DNS set up area and was able to verified my domain for google apps using the codes specfically allocated for 123-reg hosting accounts for email setup but google doesn't offer this step by step guide for 123-reg website verification. The whole content of the website is my own but the original set up files are inaccessable to me via the control panel apart from DNS etc. It is obvious that you have to be the owner with passwords etc to be able to access the DNS, what I'm saying is that there is no access to what google are requesting even to 123 reg staff it would seem. which is _link_ed to my bank account so how come they don't offer this fact alone as verification?
