I think it's a shame that antibacterial soaps came so soon on the heels of bacterial drain cleaners. Those drain cleaners opened a drain with no damage to the pipes, cleaned out the pipe really well, then washed themselves out of the pipes. Unfortunately, they didn't work well if you used an antibacterial soap. Upshot: the bacterial drain cleaners died a quiet death. Darn. I'd missed that little nuance. I'm sure there are still bacterial drain cleaners available, though. You've been able to get them for years from enviromentally friendly companies like Seventh Generation or Ecover or companies like that. Priscilla Oooh, didn't know that. Just googled and found a site for Bio-Clean, which is just what I want - bacteria and enzymes. It's sold as a powder, too, which means it'll keep well. Thanks, Priscilla. Chakolate

wrote in message And TC - for Tourist Crap, the so-called art that is mass-produced for tourists or for export to tourist-wannabes. Yep, that kind, too. Cathy See, this is what makes me cringe about buying art. I say to myself, okay, if I like it, I'll buy it. As long as it speaks to me, it's good, right? Then I wonder if people will think I'm a moron, and chicken out. Sigh. I suppose I *could* learn something about art, then make a more informed choice. Nah, too much work. Chakolate

Taxoplasmosis is a worry only if your cat has it, and few do. If you're concerned about toxoplasmosis, is there a way to get your cat tested for it? I'm just thinking about friends who got pregnant and were concerned about being at risk from their cats. Were they worried unnecessarily? Could they have had their cats tested? FurPaw I'm pretty sure they were worried unnecessarily. If your cat has it, you've been exposed, and your immune system is protecting you, as well as your unborn baby. The only danger would be if you got a cat with it while pregnant. I think. Chakolate

Why isn't wearing a surgical mask just the next logical step after washing frequently and not touching items in public places? Why is that truly weird? People may be required to wear masks in a hospital, either to avoid catching something or avoid transmitting something. If you're as much concerned about the odd airborne infection as you are about those transmitted hand to face, why wouldn't you take this step? Musing on where we draw our lines... It's cultural. Witness the face masks worn by some Japanese people. Or Michael Jackson Heh. With Michael Jackson, I'm sure that cultural even begins to cover it. Priscilla
