Does anybody know the deal with the old MTV theme song. The one they played with the rocket taking off. I once heard Gibby say that the butthole where the band playing the song! It didn't seem like he was fucking around. Later, Michael B. I almost posted about this yesterday. The Buttholes version of the MTV theme was used by the network for about a year, sometime (I believe) right before they signed to Capitol. There is a promotional only CD that contains the song butt (and this is a BIG BUTT!) there is no listing for the song as such. The CD opens with the Buttholes version of the MTV theme and doesn't list the artist next to the track listing - somewhere in the packaging is a tiny, tiny note that credits the Buttholes as performing the theme. I do not know the name of the CD and the only person I know who has a copy lives in a house full of promo CDs arranged in no particular order. I personally don't ever expect to find a copy, but you know, if you look for those old video compilations that MTV used to put out around that time, you might find a good stereo copy of the song to dub off. It's a thought, anyway.
