Kristin has quite thorough ont-the-spot reportage, including ongoing news of the fate of Gg, OTH and other shows (including why only EHC's renewal was announced today) originating at the _link_: http://www.eonline.com/gossip/kristin/blog/index.jsp?uuid=ead3bba3-59... and she's threatening to update it throughout the day. Ausiello has basic bullet points for the same session up at his Ausiello report blog at: http://community.tvguide.com/forum.jspa?forumID=700000049 It's inferior to Kristin's reportage because it's just bullet points at this point, so I'll cut and paste Kristin's reportage so far after spoiler space below, but first I'll mention one thing that Auseillo's post has that Kristin's doesn't

[Rob here: I bet Supernatural gets moved back to Tuesdays, where it belongs after this year. Don't hold me to this prediction, though.] I hope not. Smallville and Supernatural are a perfect combo. I like it as is. Anthony

As for Veronica Mars—it's funny because I feel like I've answered that question every year. It's still on the air and I'm still here. Veronica is a show we are proud of, and I have to say that all your support for that show has meant the world, and hopefully we'll have good things to talk about. [Rob here: Which means, despite the spin below, they don't have good things to say about the fate of the show past this year. Ostroff continues with see-through spin . . .] You do realize that Ostroff waffled on both shows, in pretty much the same way. In both cases, translated, she said 'we really support this show' (of course she does) and 'we'll see'. I personally think that, barring something completely unforeseen, GG will be renewed, and VM is on the bubble, but I don't think you can draw any conclusions, or provide additional support for previously drawn conclusions, from Ostroff's comments. She was being diplomatic and positive pretty much across the board. I still think that whether VM gets renewes will be tied in with whether 7th gets renewed. Originally, I was looking at the combinations of 7th, OTH, VM, and the new show, Sweaty Palms. However, since we're most the way through January and Palms doesn't even have a start date indicated yet, I think that is definitely not a good sign for its likelihood of getting picked up for a 2nd season. The question of its scheduling has virtually moved from 'when' to 'if'. So, if 7th is renewed for another season, I think VM is gone. If 7th isn't, I think VM sneaks through again.

The news also confirms what I've said: that Lauren is game for s8 and therefore that Alexis is game for s8 because Lauren has said that she won't do the show without Alexis. So, of course, they're haggling over the usual points

[Rob here: So dudes, I told you so. Every single declaration of seventh and likely final season yadayadayada has been and will continue to be ENTIRELY PREMATURE until we know either way. You mean that people can't say it won't be back until it is officialy cancelled, but you can say it will be back even though the contracts haven't been signed? Actually, yes, I can

It consistently comes in second in 18-34. And we are definitely talking to them. [Rob here: So dudes, I told you so.
