i - the blessed rustproof +5 Cleaver (weapon in hands) (This was quite odd for a priest
In my experience, Cleaver and Mjollnir are the standard weapons for priests. Of these two I would definitely choose Cleaver. Frost Brand is a good alternative if your god grants you a longsword. Eh? How could Cleaver be good for a priest? Sure, the +5 is good in the one currently displayed, but priests are restricted in axes - even if they're unrestricted because of a godly gift, they still can't get beyond Basic, last I heard... Yes, I know Cleaver does a bit of extra damage (d6) to all monsters. Is that *really* that good? Mjollnir, on the other hand is +d24 against non-shock resistant critters [just how many of those are there?] and is a hammer, so priests can become Expert with it, which is a good thing for when those creatures that *are* shock resistant are encountered, I'd say... What'm I missing here?
